Our Process of Swap Over to Raw Diet - Alfoxton Changeover
We commenced feeding our adult Aussie dogs with the Vets All Natural Complete Mix (VAN), looks very like old fashioned muesli, in December 2012 and mixing this with the Chicken and Vegie roll - the dogs were doing very well on this, their coats in particular became thicker and very glossy - one big thing was also the improvement in the droppings, especially how the poo no longer smells like the squished vet dry food - what goes in one end does come out the other!

WORRIED ABOUT THE DOGS SKIN / ALLEGIES  ??

Although I am not a vet, I do have over 30 years of running a boarding kennel, training school and breeding dogs. This coupled with living on a farm that over the years we have dealth with horses, cows, chickens, cats, goats and even emus, I have built up a great regime of home remedies and first aid. Not forgetting to that I am an avid reader of science advances (particularly in dogs) of their health, welfare and behaviour. Although I am always happy to make use of a good vet practice, we always treat our animals using a hearty dose of common sense first, which seems to be a rare commodity these days....

In the Beginning

Dogs have lived for millions of years on a raw diet without any great issues. Back in the 1960’s dogs were happily living with us humans eating raw meat, bones and leftovers. Yet we didn’t have much in the way of allergies, cancers and dental problem also many dogs were living till close to 16-20 years.
